Rarity Cascade Canyon lapis lazuli earrings and necklace set

from $171.00
Only 3 available

Rare Cascade Canyon, Southern California lapis lazuli gold filled setting & 14k plum yellow solid gold solder pendant and thin 14k gold filled necklace. 1/1 made.

Denim blue Lapis is from the most upper part of part of Cascade Canyon that was eventually washed down into the creek. This is one of the very few places in North America with Lapis Lazuli deposits. Not only is the old lapis mine collapsed, it is insanely difficult and extremely *DANGEROUS* to reach due to landslides and old avalanche debris. Along with climbing, sliding, route-finding, bushwhacking, and oh so many ticks. It was completely remote… not knowing if we would run head on with a bear or mountain lion was unsettling. We needed a helmet and being fully covered due to thorns and ticks. It’s so rewarding if you can find something that had been washed down, but we left almost empty handed.

When I had went in 2022 and found a new vein on the way out. It was a HUGE slab. My friend packed it out for me since it didn’t fit in my pack. Since then it was lost, but I can’t wait to find more.

Handmade with love.
